Code of Conduct
Everyone had to check you read and agree to the Code of Conduct when you registered your child. We ask players, coaches, and fans to abide by these rules at all times. Anyone that is not able to follow these rules will be politely given a reminder of the Code of Conduct and if you continue to not follow them we will ask you to leave the Park. It is not hard to show respect for others and cheer for your team, these are very simple rules to follow so the children our community can have fun playing a game.
CODE OF CONDUCT

Players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators are to conduct themselves in a manner that demonstrates respect to other players, coaches, officials, parents, spectators and fans. In becoming a member of this organization, an individual assumes certain obligations and responsibilities to the organization and its participants. The essential elements in this Code of Conduct are HONESTY and INTEGRITY. Those who conduct themselves in a manner that reflects these elements will bring credit to themselves, their team and their organization. It is only through such conduct that our organization can continue to earn and maintain a positive image and make its full contribution to our sport and community.

The following essential elements of the Code of Conduct must be followed:
1. Sportsmanship and teaching the concepts of fair play are essential to the game and must be taught at all levels and developed both at home and on the field during practices and games.
2. The value of good sportsmanship, the concepts of fair play, and the skills of the game should always be placed above winning.
3. The safety and welfare of the players are of primary importance.
4. Players should always demonstrate positive behavior and respect toward teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, parents and spectators.
5. Coaches, players, parents and spectators are expected to demonstrate the utmost respect for officials and reinforce that respect to players/teammates.
6. Grievances or misunderstandings between coaches, officials or any other parties involved with the organization should be communicated through the proper channels and procedures, never on or about the field of play in view of spectators or participants.
7. Spectators involved with the game must never permit anyone to openly or maliciously criticize, badger, harass or threaten an official, coach, player or opponent.
8. Eligibility requirements, at all levels of the game, must be followed. Rules and requirements such as age, previous level of participation, team transfers, etc, have been established to encourage and maximize participation, fair play and to promote safety.

Saturday was a great day of baseball and softball, I appreciate everyone's flexibility with the weather. Please remember to stay out of the dugouts during a game. Try not to stand behind them or in the entrances as well. If you smoke please try to move away from the stands and concession stand area. Dorey Park is a great facility that anyone who comes from out of town compliment. Henrico County worked very hard and long hours to get the fields ready or us to play. It is our home park and we should take care of it as best we can. Please try to throw away your trash and there are recycling bins as well around the concession stand.

Please give the coaches and umpires a break, the Managers and coaches take a lot of their time to help teach the youth the game of baseball and softball. We can still use coaches so if you feel you can do better coaching application registration is still open. Umpiring is not easy, I have done it and it is not easy. Every call you make you only make half the people happy. We also have youth umpires doing our younger Division games. They should NEVER hear any complaining from the fans. If you do not feel they are taking it serious then have your coach come find me. They should not have deal with angry fans if they maybe "missed" a call. Especially since they only umpire our Instructional Divisions.

If you have any concerns please contact me or any of the Board Members. Our contact information is on the website. The field hotline for rainouts is (804)501-5132. Option 1. It is updated by 3pm on weekdays and 8am on weekends. I am not informed earlier than anyone and I call the hotline myself so please call the number before contacting me.
